Prof. Dr. Jesus M. MUNOZ-PACHECO

(Principal Fellow of KWTI)

Prof. Dr. Jesus Manuel MUNOZ-PACHECO received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), Mexico, in 2005 and 2009, respectively. Currently, he is a Full Professor-Researcher at Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP). Additionally, he is the Head of the research group: Chaotic and Fractional-order Systems and Nonlinear Circuits (CFOSysNC), and Founder and Director of the Ph.D. program on Applied Research on Electronics with Industrial Applications, both at the same University.

His research interests are fractional-order circuits and systems, chaos theory, numerical and mathematical modeling, circuit design and applications of chaotic systems, security in the Internet of Things, memristive systems, and neural networks. He has published several scientific works in international journals, book chapters, conferences, and patents. He has a Scopus h-index of 25, and about 2000 citations, excluding self-citations in February 2024.

Dr. Munoz-Pacheco has received several awards for his research work. Since 2010, he is a regular member (Level-1) of the National System of Researchers (SNI), which is a top-level researchers program founded by the Mexican Government through the National Council for Humanities, Science and Technology (CONAHCYT/Mexico). Also, he has been ranked in the TOP 2% scientists list (global) published by the Stanford University and ELSEVIER in both Single-year and Career list for the second consecutive year.

He is currently Associate Editor in the journals Frontiers in Physics, Frontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, International Journal of Numerical Modelling, Chaos Theory and Applications, International Journal of Nonlinear Dynamics and Control; Academic Editor in the journals Complexity, and Discrete Dynamics in Nature and Society; Section Editor for Systems and Circuits Section in
journal Recent Advances in Electrical & Electronic Engineering; Editorial Board Member in International Journal of Automation and Control, and International Journal of Intelligent Engineering
Informatics. Dr. Munoz-Pacheco was the Chairman of the National Conference on Automatic Control (CNCA-AMCA-2019, Mexico) and a regular Technical Program Committee Member for IEEE MOCAST. Finally, he also serves as a reviewer for research proposal calls for national and international scientific agencies.
